Dear Betsy,
I was thrilled to listen to your old songs with Chris in Japanese and at the same time I rhappened to see and listen to your soul and bluesy music through Youtube. That is amazing and bloody good.
Your singing style is just like Janice Joplin !
I am very pleased to know that you are actively singing in Hawaii. I wish I could see your live in Hawaii in the future. I live at Cambridge area in UK, so I ma not sure when I can visit Hawaii, but through You tube I could see you. Good luck and take care.
All the best from your fan
Hiro
Aloha Betsy. Last night I was Net-surfing on Youtube and listening to some Betsy and Chris
era songs. Somehow, I found your website and listened to Pink Umbrellas. I love it. Of course purchased it. Both the rhythm and lyrics are very Hawaiian to me. I am Japanese; lived in Hawaii for over 7 yerars total. consider myself “a local” (lol). I just wanted to let you know that I am one of your fans and still listen to those Betsy and Chris era songs once in a while and now I have “discovered” your site that I look forward to listening to ” Today’s Betsy music” as well. Keep on singing and entertaining us.
Aloha.
Aloha Tony,
Thank you for your kind words, and thank you for purchasing Pink Umbrellas. I was inspired to write it by a young newly-wed Japanese couple I saw while entertaining here on the Kohala Coast. They were so beautiful, and so much in love! Where did you live while in Hawaii and what did you do here?
Mahalo,
Betsy.
Aloha Hiro,
Thank you so much for your comments. I have been quite busy in the last two years as hadI returned to school! Now I have graduated, and am continuing to sing again, and I have also started to write tunes. Very exciting! Hope you get to visit Hawaii one day. The weather is beautiful everyday!
Mahalo,
Betsy.
Oh my, Waika. Thanks so much for sharing this. Nothing like a few tears to start the day! Congratulations on this website!
love, katy
